The newly announced Asus Eee Pc 1015P and Asus Eee Pc 1015PE netbooks are the two of the latest netbooks to join the Asus Eee PC family. They build on the Asus 1005PE and have a similar design, but now with a new matte / non gloss finish!

The biggest complaint about the previous model was it’s all gloss fingerprint magnet design, so it’s great to see a nice fingerprint resistant matte finish. Asus say the new update “combines new colours, finishes and textures with amazing energy efficiency”.

It can provide up to 14 hours of battery life, and features a low profile keyboard, and new large touchpad.

It certainly looks very sleek and stylish, and I’m a big fan of the new screw-less matte design. The lid and palm rest are matte, with only gloss running around the LCD. It features a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, with 1GB of RAM and uses the new Intel Atom N450 / N455 / N470 or N475 processors.

There are a few small difference between the Asus Eee PC 1015P and 101PE, but we’re not sure what just yet, probably just hard drive size.

The Asus 1015PE and 1015P also feature a 160GB hard drive, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and come with 500GB of online storage space.

There are three battery options, a 3-cell 5 hour 23Wh, a 6-cell 11 hour 47Whand a 6-cell 14 hour 63Wh battery.

Prices and release date are currently unknown, but we will update this information when it’s available.
