Since the Toshiba NB550D netbook was first unveiled, all eyes have been eagerly awaiting this product in the United States. But sadly, news reached today that this netbook won’t be reaching the U.S anytime soon. Powered by the AMD Fusion C-50 “Ontario” APU, this Toshiba netbook is the first of its kind. This Ontario-powered 10-inch laptop works on ATI Radeon 6250 graphics and features Harman Kardon speakers.
The Toshiba NB550D will be available in Europe and Australia later this year, but Toshiba doesn’t have a release date yet for the United States. Despite the fact that this Toshiba netbook really turned heads when it was first shown off, Toshiba doesn’t seem in a hurry just yet to make it available in the U.S.
Meanwhile, another 10-inch netbook that is powered by the AMD C-50 technology with ATI Radeon 6250 graphics is already available for pre-ordering at $329. The Acer Aspire One 522 is fortunately available for consumers in the United States and it is already available for pre-ordering on Amazon.com.
