In recent days, Peter Robinson has announced the availability of a new branch of Fedora, called the Mini, optimized for small netbooks.
Derived from Fedora 12 Alpha, stands as an objective the creation of a new lightweight version is compatible with the hardware of the mini laptops by exploiting the excellent foundations and features of Moblin Linux, the distro “made in Intel” destined to become one of the systems operational interest to the industry.
The news was in the air, especially after the recent announcements on projects Moblin Netbook Remix and Linpus Moblin. Fedora Mini is currently under development, but there must be mentioned that even the same Moblin and Fedora 12 are still very young.
Hardware support (here is the complete list) includes all the atoms produced up to now, the Via C7 el ‘AMD Geode LX. I also support all the Intel GMA and any type of display, while compatibility with the WiFi chipset is reviewed.
Fedora 12 + Moblin it might be a good match, do not you think?
