At long last the long-awaited Windows 7 operating system has been released. People all over the world have spent the night at retail stores waiting to be the first ones to snap up their copies. If you are a netbook user, you must be curious:
Is Windows 7 netbook friendly?
Yes it seems to be so far. Microsoft is not blind to the success of netbooks and knows that netbook users now account for a large number of computer users. The only problem though is that without a DVD drive, most netbooks will have trouble loading the new operating system.
Is this a trick from Microsoft to let netbook users out in the cold?
You can apparently get Windows 7 via straight Internet download or you can buy it Windows 7 from Amazon: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Who has Windows 7 for netbooks already working? How does it fare? Would you recommend it? Is the difference between XP and 7 like night and day? Come on, spill the beans already! [You can install Windows 7 to you netbook via USB.]

I have installed win 7 Pro on my netbook via usb and i have to say that it is considerable better then xp which was on it when i got it. Battery life is better and it goes a lot faster for me.
I’m a netbook user but I’m not curious about windows 7 in the slightest. I have no intention of paying MS for the privilege of using (you never own windows, you are merely licensed to use it – read the small print) yet another buggy, overpriced operating system that tells me what I can and can’t do with my computer.
My netbook runs Linux. It looks better than vista (and thus 7, presumably), runs better and, more importantly, does what I want it to when I tell it to.
There are other OS’s out there, people, and some of them are actually better than windows and FREE.
